In the morning, cross the Omo River to visit the Dassanech people, semi-nomadic pastoralists living near the Kenyan border. Return to Turmi for lunch. In the afternoon, visit a Hamer village and witness the famous Bull Jumping Ceremony if available — a rite of passage into adulthood.

Drive time: ~3.5 hours
Travel to Karo village at Kolcho, overlooking the Omo River. The Karo are master body painters and renowned for their elaborate decorations. Then drive to Kangate to meet other Omo tribes. Return to Turmi for the evening. If there is another bull jumping event, you may attend.

Leave for Jinka, stopping at Key Afer Market (Thursdays only) to see Hamer, Tsemay, Banna, and Ari tribes trading goods and crafts. Continue to Ari village in the afternoon — the Ari are known for their pottery and agriculture.

Drive time: ~7 hours
In the morning, drive to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe, famous for their lip plates and body scarification. Return via Konso for a second visit (if missed earlier) or lunch. Then continue to Arba Minch for the night.

Head back to Addis Ababa via the western Rift Valley route. Stop at the Tiya Stele Field (UNESCO World Heritage) and Halaba village to learn about the local adobe-painted homes and culture. Enjoy lunch at Halaba.
